We invite all students, age 4 - 12th grade, to join. Student Choir meets on Sunday evenings at 5:00pm (or 4:30pm as we approach a presentation). Each season, students work diligently to learn a musical by which they can share the gospel message of Jesus to the church and community. Students are encouraged to audition for speaking parts and solos for each musical if they desire, but members are not required to fill a speaking part or solo to be in choir. Student Choir is led by Mrs. Robin Osburn, Mrs. Jennifer Baker, Mrs. Dawn Kropp, and Mrs. Kristen Villalobos.
Rehearsals for our Spring Musical selection will begin on Sunday, January 14th @ 5:00pm. Student Choir is open to all students, age 4 - 12th grade. Due to the commitment required for this musical, all speaking parts and solos will be given by audition only. All students who earn a speaking part or solo are required to attend all rehearsals and presentations, unless an emergency situation occurs and directors are notified. A calendar of rehearsals and special dates will be given to each student at first rehearsal.
Danny and The Shacks will be presented on Saturday, May 5th, at 6:00pm, with a spaghetti dinner and again Sunday, May 6th, at 6:00pm!
Come along on this Biblically-inspired, Won’t-Bend-Won’t-Bow-Won’t-Burn Babylonian epic, recounting the adventures of Daniel ("Danny," as we call him in our 21st-century version of the story) and his bandmates, The Shacks (better known to you Bible scholars out there as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego!).
In our re-telling of the story, three young Hebrew men named Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in conjunction with the prophet Daniel (of lions den fame), have a band called Danny & the Shacks. They embark on a roller-coaster-thrill-ride of experiences as they encounter King Neb, his golden statue, some crazy Babylonians, the fiery furnace, and of course, the infamous lions den. Through it all, the powerful truth of God’s Word and the importance of being obedient and faithful to His teaching comes through loud and clear in a storyline so fantastic and faithaffirming, it could only come from the Word of God.
