Looking Back At 2025

2025 Preaching Ministry Summary

The 2025 preaching ministry at Lakeview Baptist Church reflected a clear, intentional focus on both spiritual growth and doctrinal depth. Throughout the year, the sermons delivered by Dr. Robert C. Crowder formed a unified body of teaching designed to guide the congregation beyond isolated messages and into a sustained journey of faith. Each series emphasized the authority of Scripture, the centrality of Jesus Christ, and the practical outworking of biblical truth in everyday life. Together, the sermons communicated a consistent conviction that Christian maturity is built on a firm theological foundation and a responsive, obedient walk with God.

A major emphasis of the year was the sermon series Laying Aside Every Weight, which addressed the internal burdens that often hinder believers from living fully for Christ. This series spoke directly to issues such as guilt, fear, sin, worry, shame, regret, doubt, bitterness, failure, unforgiveness, pride, disappointment, grief, and self-centered living. With pastoral clarity and biblical conviction, each message pointed listeners to the freedom found in Christ and encouraged them to release these weights at the cross. The series resonated deeply by addressing real-life struggles while offering clear, scriptural hope, restoration, and direction.

Complementing this pastoral focus was the doctrinal series The Work of God in the Life of a Believer, which provided a comprehensive overview of the biblical doctrines of salvation. Beginning with creation and humanity’s condemnation in sin, the series traced God’s saving work through propitiation, substitution, redemption, justification, reconciliation, regeneration, sanctification, and adoption. These sermons reinforced Lakeview Baptist Church’s commitment to clear, conservative, Bible-centered teaching and equipped believers with a deeper understanding of what God has done, is doing, and will complete in Christ.

The final major emphasis of the year was The Gospel According to Isaiah, focusing primarily on Isaiah chapters 40–55. This series presented the Gospel in prophetic form, proclaiming comfort after judgment, the call to prepare the way of the Lord, and the good news of salvation through the promised Servant. Rather than treating Isaiah as mere prediction, the sermons highlighted Isaiah’s presentation of a Person. Again and again, the congregation was called to behold the Servant of the Lord, fulfilled in Jesus Christ, who suffers for sinners and brings lasting redemption to God’s people.

Looking Ahead to 2026

As we look forward to 2026, the preaching ministry at Lakeview Baptist Church will continue this Christ-centered trajectory. The coming year will complete The Gospel According to Isaiah, carrying the congregation fully through Isaiah’s climactic promises where comfort, redemption, and hope converge in the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. These concluding messages will emphasize the faithfulness of God, the certainty of His promises, and the assurance that His redemptive purposes never fail.

In addition, 2026 will begin a thorough, verse-by-verse study of The Gospel According to Luke. Building on the prophetic foundation laid in Isaiah, this study will move from promise to fulfillment, tracing the life, compassion, teachings, and saving mission of Jesus Christ as the Son of Man who came to seek and to save the lost. Together, these studies will help the church see the unity of Scripture, grow in doctrinal understanding, and follow Christ with informed faith, obedient hearts, and steady hope as the Word of God continues to shape our life together.

As we close this year, we do so with thankful hearts and great expectation. God has been faithful to speak through His Word, to strengthen His church, and to remind us that His purposes are steady and sure. With eyes fixed on Christ, we step into the coming year ready to listen, to learn, and to follow wherever the Scriptures lead. Our prayer is that the same God who has guided us through 2025 will continue to shape us in truth, deepen our love for His Word, and draw us ever closer to His Son in the days ahead.
