The Sounds of That Resurrection Morning

April 20, 2025. Easter.

Dr. Crowder reflects on the sounds of the resurrection morning.

Silence has a way of settling over a cemetery.

If you’ve ever stood at the graveside of a loved one, you know that stillness. The only sounds might be the wind rustling through the trees… maybe the creaking of an old gate… or the soft footsteps of mourners walking away. For the followers of Jesus Christ, early that Sunday morning, the world must have felt painfully quiet. Gone are the noises of the crucifixion, the hammer striking the nails, the jeering crowds, the thunder from heaven. All of it had faded into the long, hard silence of death.
