Sermon Series: Laying Aside Every Weight
Scripture Used: Mark 5:21-24, 35-43
Fear has the power to paralyze us, keeping us from fully trusting in God’s plan. In Mark 5:21-24, 35-43, we witness the desperate plea of Jairus, a synagogue ruler, whose daughter lay at the point of death. When the situation seemed hopeless, Jesus spoke words of assurance: “Be not afraid, only believe.” This sermon examines how fear can grip our hearts and hinder our faith, but through Christ, we can find the courage to trust in His power and sovereignty.
Through biblical teaching and real-life application, Losing the Weight of Fear challenges us to surrender our anxieties to God. Whether we fear the unknown, rejection, or suffering, Jesus calls us to replace fear with unwavering faith. Will you choose to lay down your fears and embrace the peace that only Christ can provide?
